The Team
Dustin (Founder & President/CEO):
Dustin Taylor has worked in the auction and online classified business since he was 16, starting his own small business to earn extra cash by buying and selling things on eBay, local classifieds listings and by word of mouth with friends. He has a knack for finding the best items at the cheapest prices and the hard to find ability to anticipate what the market will do. After being in this saturated industry for several years, he wanted to provide a way to avoid the headaches of interacting online with others to buy items. MerchMatch is his answer to the markets problems. Blessed to have met several long-life friends and acquaintances in his life journey, he is motivated by helping and seeing those people succeed in life in whatever way they define. Dustin is a self-proclaimed internet entrepreneur and when around him, you may notice yourself changing the way you think about what’s possible and having a clearer vision of how life can be better for yourself, even when times are tough.
Mitch (VP/COO):
Mitch Nelson is a hard working and driven man. He has worked since he was young organizing and managing in business. He makes things happen. His flare for creating business opportunities keeps his life exciting. His drive to make each day successful is contagious and everyone around him is inspired to follow his/her dreams. Leadership skills come easy for him, making his employees and co-workers feel as though they are part of a team. Everyone works hard and smart together. Success is bound to follow wherever he goes. He is the EVP/COO and controls finer workings of MerchMatch – finance, legal, marketing and admin, with all of which Mitch has had previous business experience. Mitch has always been heavily involved in business due to his father teaching him since he was young. Mitch understands current business practices as he is presently running his own printing and fulfillment company.
Gareth (CFO):
Gareth Borcherds graduated from High School and immediately went on to pursue a degree in Business Management and Marketing. He worked hard through school to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business in only three years from Pennsylvania State University. During his time at the University, he worked as a financial analyst for Innovative Resort Communities and Palm Springs West. He learned the workings of the financial side of business and began building his abilities to analyze and improve the workings of any business. After serving a service mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for two years in Madrid Spain, he has returned to live in Salt Lake City Utah. He currently works for CR England as a business analyst and is working hard to insure a strong foundation for MerchMatch.
Will (Senior Developer):
Will Robertson is a front and back-end web developer and is currently employed full-time as a web development professional. He has 6 years of professional development experience working for various companies in a variety of industries and focuses. Starting off his career in the dental industry, he has since worked for Fortune 100 and 500 companies from the mining to the entertainment industry. He has done work for companies coast to coast across the United States and beyond. Some clients that he has served include HBO, TV Guide Network, Fox Movie Channel, US Synthetic and many others. Will oversees the entire web development of MerchMatch, the bread and butter of what makes MerchMatch the tool it is.
Andrew (Head of Web Design/Marketing):
Andrew Yeager will blind you with his design awesomeness. He grew up drawing with whatever he could find (crayons, pencils, mashed potatoes, etc) and now sketches sweetness with his super-high-tech pen tablet. Six years of experience in web and graphic design make him skillful, and his desire to stay current makes his work innovative and unique. He regularly designs logos and materials for start-up companies and updates existing brands with a sharp eye and magic hands. Andrew also has several years of amateur film making experience. His short film “Transfiguration” placed in the top 10% of the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival and currently plays annually in Odyssey Dance Theatre’s signature production, “Thriller.”
Scott (Developer):
Scott Weinert speaks more PHP programming than he does English. He started programming in the DOS operating system at age 12 and landed his first project at age 14 with K-Mart. Although his voice had a frightening high pitch during conference calls, he was able to complete the tasks at hand. At age 16 he graduated early from high school to earn his associates degree in Computer Science. He only periodically returned to high school to help teach a computer programming class and play hockey. Scott has 6 years experience as a freelance web developer. He has been the medium through which many entrepreneurs have brought their online businesses to life. Today, he continues to further his education in the Computer Science field while programming the 0’s and 1’s of MerchMatch.
